History[]

Hosting The Morning Show[]

When Alex quit suddenly after her eventful broadcast with Bradley, Eric was hired to replace her as co-host. For the next eight months, they worked together well, though ratings dropped significantly. As the end of the year approached, they planned a New Years Eve Extravaganza. To promote it, Eric talked Bradley into doing a song and dance. At the same time, an anchor at the evening news was accused of creating a toxic work environment, so Eric was tapped to replace him, something everyone kept secret from Bradley.

At the New Years Eve Extravaganza, Eric and Bradley shared a drink and toasted to the new year. The toast made Eric uncomfortable as Bradley still did not know he was leaving. Eric finally decided he couldn't handle it anymore and told Bradley he was leaving. Despite her upset, Bradley continued the show with Eric, eventually counting down to midnight.[1]

Meeting Alex[]

Eric was in his dressing room one day when Alex came in, having come there when she got overwhelmed in the studio as the dressing room had previously been hers. He was honored to meet her. He had gotten the sense that she and Bradley didn't leave on good terms and asked if Alex had any advice on how to fix his relationship with Bradley. Alex told him she'd only worked with Bradley for a few weeks and if he and Bradley hadn't become friends after working together for so many months, it must be his fault. She then left the room suddenly.[2]

Leaving The Morning Show[]

With Daniel in Wuhan, Eric and Bradley streamed his report on the novel coronavirus. His report was cut off when the time came to make their much anticipated big announcement. The whole team joined them to announce Alex's return. Soon afterward, Eric had his final show.[3]

Presidential Debate[]

Eric was selected to moderate the presidential debate in Las Vegas.[4] He arrived in Vegas, where he, Alex, and Deena did a mock debate before heading to bed so Alex could get up early to do The Morning Show. The next day, Eric started the debate by introducing Bradley as Alex's replacement and wishing Alex a speedy recovery when Alex abruptly dropped out as a moderator.[5]
